Kate Harries, Lauren’s mother, issued an urgent tweet on Friday alongside a pristine snap of the 45-year-old standing in a garden.

Lauren has often gushed over the close bond she shares with her mother throughout her career in the public eye.

Kate wrote: “Please pray or send good thoughts to my precious daughter Lauren who is recovering from emergency brain surgery today.”

While no other details were made apparent at the time, Kate’s tweet certainly got the attention of Lauren’s fanbase, with thoughts and prayers pouring in.

Among the countless “get well” wishes, many shared the sentiments of Rhysglover as they wrote: “Speedy recovery to the one and only.”

Lauren’s official Twitter account retweeted the plea for support but has otherwise not been active for three days.

Lauren has been using her celebrity status and hefty following on the social media platform to share some insights on the recent transgender debate at the forefront of current affairs due to transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Tweeting earlier this week, Lauren weighed in on the hot topic, speaking directly to concerned parents of transgender children.

She wrote: “22 years ago I had no outside influences telling me to become a woman, I just knew I was.

“I searched for help. My doctor couldn't help me, trans people were an enigma. So to worried parents I suggest that one cannot be sold into having these life changing expensive operations.”

The media personality first catapulted to fame as a 12-year-old antiques expert on Antiques Roadshow and the series Wogan, although she was then known as James Harries but underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2003 at the age of 25.

She previously opened up on her experiences having the surgery, admitting to the Daily Star that it was far more “dangerous” back then as “they didn’t know enough about it”.

The Welsh star carved a lucrative niche for herself in television, coming in third place in 2013’s Big Brother series and even venturing into music with her 2015 single I Am A Woman.

Currently, it is believed Lauren is pursuing her artistic passions, selling her handmade artworks online.
