Dungeons & Dragons star forced to apologise after Chris Pine moment made him forget line
EXCLUSIVE: Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves gave actor Jason Wong memories he will cherish for a lifetime, including fighting Regé-Jean Page, scaring Michelle Rodriguez and having to apologise to Chris Pine.
Jason Wong forgot his lines while acting opposite Chris Pine
Jason Wong, 37, rose to fame in the ITV series Strangers but seemed worlds away from these humble beginnings as he took to the red carpet this month for the premiere of his latest film.
Speaking to Express.co.uk at the Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves London premiere, the actor relished the moment and revealed that he’s still not quite convinced that he’ll be sharing a screen with Hollywood A-listers like Hugh Grant.
As the villainous Dralas, Jason found himself not only working alongside these acting legends but also fighting some of them, and shared his favourite memory from set, as as he prepared to face Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Rege-Jean Page, Sophia Lillis and Justice Smith.
He excitedly recalled: “Chris (was) looking at me with fear and anger and I was like: ‘This is amazing! This is the guy from Star Trek!’ I was a bit starstruck in that moment.
“Chris Pine, he’s one of my favourite actors. It’s weird that I get to say that I’ve (worked with them). I’m very lucky.”

Unfortunately, the overwhelming realisation that he was officially working alongside his acting idol led to an awkward stand-off as Jason promptly forgot exactly what he was there for.
He continued: “I was looking at them, they were looking at me and it was me who had to move but I completely forgot my line because I was looking at them going: ‘Oh my god! Oh my god!’.
“They went ‘Jason, it’s your line’ and I went ‘Oh yep, sorry!’ then we start the fight scene.
“That was my favourite scene to do because I was having a starstruck moment.”

His other treasured recollections from the film included "doing my fight scene with Regé, doing my scene with Daisy Head who plays Sofina and also being able to scare these guys (the cast), Chris and Michelle.”
Even at the premiere, Jason isn’t quite convinced the entire experience was actually real, gasping as he spots Chris Pine on the same red carpet as him.
Jason revealed that even watching the film he doesn’t recognise himself: “I’ve got so much makeup on I don’t even notice it’s me.
“That’s probably a good thing because it feels like I’m wearing a mask so I feel more protected.”
