Dancing On Ice star shares update after being 'attacked in front of kids’ in McDonald's

RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne has allegedly been attacked in McDonald's on Friday.

The Vivienne, whose real name is James Lee Williams, took to Twitter and shared details of a horrific incident, where she alleged she was "attacked’ in front of "kids and women".

Taking to Twitter, she penned: "Just been attacked in McDonald’s, Police on way. Homophobia alive and well folks! First time I’ve never retaliated in a fight because I’m not gonna punch somebody in front of kids and women."

In a follow-up post, the RuPaul Drag Race star thanked social media users for their concern.

The Vivienne said: "Thank you all for your concern, the police have been great and I believe the culprit has been found."

The TV star was inundated with messages of support as people sent their well-wishes to the amateur skater.

The TV star, who competed in Dancing On Ice earlier this year, gave an update.

She wrote: "Huge thank you to the fantastic staff at @McDonaldsUK Edge Lane who acted fast and removed the idiot from the premises and did everything in their power to make sure I was ok and waited for police with me."

Express.co.uk has contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment.

The Vivienne first shot to fame after landing the winning spot on the first season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

She was also appointed the first UK RuPaul's Drag Race ambassador in 2015.

After leaving her mark on the show, The Vivienne later returned to compete in the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars in 2022.

She went on to take part in Dancing On Ice earlier this year and finished in third place.

The TV personality resides in Liverpool along with husband David Ludford.

The pair tied the knot in 2019 at London venue Heaven - which was granted permission earlier that same year to host weddings, as part of celebrations for the location’s 40th anniversary.

Merseyside Police have now confirmed an arrest has been made.

In a statement to Metro.co.uk, they said: "We have arrested a man following reports a man was subjected to a homophobic assault in Liverpool today, Friday 16th June.

"The victim, who is in his 30s, reported he was in McDonalds on Edge Lane in Old Swan at around 12.25pm when a man made homophobic comments towards him and then punched him in the face. The man then made off."

A man was arrested on suspicion of s47 assault and is in custody where he is set to be questioned by police.

The statement went on to confirm enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
