REBEL WILSON has stunned fans with her transformation over the past year, sharing new photos that show off her amazing figure.

Rebel Wilson discusses her decision to lose weight in 2020

Rebel regularly shares updates on her Instagram page with fans going wild for her snaps that showcase her body transformation. The actress who has appeared in a number of hit films, including Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect, has revealed that her recent transformation is the only time she has ever lost weight and managed to keep it off.

In a recent interview, Rebel explained that: “I grew up not really trading on my looks. I was the personality girl."

Since then, Rebel has lost over four stone and is a far cry from the character who made her famous, “Fat Amy”.

“But after going through my whole health transformation last year, I’ve been in touch with this ‘inner siren’.”

The actress explained that for her, body shape and size isn’t important, the main thing is being able to love yourself.

She said: “It’s not about being a certain size or body weight or anything. It’s just about loving yourself and loving the journey that you’re on. And to me, the women I think are most beautiful are those who step into their own power.”

Rebel recently celebrated her belated 40th birthday on a secluded island in French Polynesia on Marlon Brando’s estate, by hosting a week-long party.

The actress turned 40 last year, but due to the pandemic chose to hold off on celebrating until last month.

She explained that turning 40 was especially significant for her as she felt that she had overcome many struggles. Fans were quick to suggest that she create a memoir about how she dealt with the issues in her life, from problems with fertility to surviving malaria to a years-long battle with emotional eating.

The actress has already shared some of her stories in a new, semi-autobiographical children’s book which launches later this month.

Rebel said: “My life has been so adventurous that I needed an outlet to start writing it down. So all the kid-appropriate stories are going in the kids’ book... and I’ll save the more sexy stories for the adult book.”

She explained that she wrote Bella the Brave during lockdown and said: “I would go on walks with my sister and my niece every day, and my niece reminded me of my younger self. I started thinking, ‘I wish I could tell her things that I wish someone would have told me. I wish I had stories growing up that could motivate and inspire me with girl power'."

“It’s true to life. Although, I’m embarrassed to say that I was a lot older than Bella when I got dragged out of the car by my mum to join the choir

“But I’m so grateful Mum forced me to come out of my shell. It was traumatic at the time, but that kick-started a whole new area of my life in terms of performing.

“Being involved in the creative arts helped me find my voice,” she says. “It’s crazy that I became an actress, because I was so shy. Growing up, nobody looked at me and said, ‘That girl should be an international movie star!’ Even now, I still get really nervous for my live performances, but I’ve learnt to embrace it.”

Rebel explained that her shyness is linked to her struggles with emotional eating.

She explained: “When I was at my heaviest, I also had the most international attention on me. Because I’m not a natural performer, my natural personality is very introverted; the way I dealt with that pressure was to eat. I would reward myself with a block of chocolate,” she says.

At the start of 2020, Rebel decided to make the year her “Year of Health” and to address the cause of her binge-eating and make consistent and maintainable changes.

Since then, Rebel has lost more than 30kg and is a far cry from the character who made her famous, “Fat Amy”.

Rebel explained: “For the first time in my life I’ve lost weight and maintained it.

“So I’m more proud of that fact. It worked because it was the whole lifestyle approach and dealing with emotional eating. I’m not totally cured. I don’t think you can be. But I’ve learnt to manage it – and it’s not by reaching for a bowl of ice cream.”
