When Gemma Gajewski's miracle baby Bella Rose was born last New Year's Eve, she decided to photograph her every day for a year.

Her tiny 1lb 4oz tot was named The Little Angel by hospital nurses after surviving a traumatic start to life.

From today Gemma will have taken 365 photos, one for every day that she has survived since her birth.

Despite being born the size of her mum’s hand, brave Bella is at home and has been celebrating her first Christmas with her family.

Gemma, 28, and partner Leon Bailey, were thrilled when they discovered she was pregnant.

The couple, from Stoke on Trent, also have an older daughter, Avah-Beaux, four.

It all went smoothly until Gemma was 20 weeks pregnant when the doctors at the Royal Stoke Hospital told her that the baby was small. She was monitored closely and the day before New Year’s Eve, she couldn’t feel the baby moving.

Gemma said: “They told me that I could let her slip away naturally, or have an early caesarean.

“We didn’t know if she would survive, it was so traumatic. I’ve never seen a baby so small. Every moment with her is so precious and I want to capture those moments.”
