Manchester City take-on FC Basel tonight in the Champions League

Manchester City will face-off against FC Basel tonight.

The latest Champions League clash – the first Knock-Out round – will take place in the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola says Manchester City are "many years" away from reaching the same level as former club Barcelona.

Guardiola won his first trophy as City boss in the Carabao Cup, and the side are now four wins away from the Premier League title as well.

City have one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals, going into tonight’s clash with a 4-0 advantage.

"To think about joining these kinds of teams [like Barcelona], you have to be there a long time," Guardiola told BBC Sport.

"We won one title but it is not good for us comparing with that team.

“They dominated the last decade - 15-20 years with different managers, different players. Every season they won a lot of things."

Manchester City are currently unbeaten in their last 12 Champions League games at the Etihad, winning each of their last four – their longest run on home soil in the competition.
