This is the only picture of the new One-77, the supercar firm’s latest model that will set you back… are you sitting down?… an eye-watering £1million-plus.

As the name suggests, the Gaydon firm will build just 77 of the bespoke coupés which owners can develop to their own tastes, adapting the interior, seats and even the mechanical elements.

With a 7.0-litre V12 engine, the One-77 will boast more than 600bhp, have a 0 to 60mph time of less than four seconds and will possess better performance than the existing DBS and old Vanquish.

Retaining its exclusivity, Aston won’t uncover the car at the forthcoming Paris or Los Angeles motor shows. Instead, potential customers (who can register on www.one-77.com) will be given private viewings.

Despite that price tag, Aston already has a list of about 20 customers, tempted by the One-77’s promise of bringing a new level of involvement to car buying. I should hope so, too, for a million quid.
