Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said Meghan’s return to the picture sharing site cause “much concern” among Royal Family members. He told Express.co.uk: “Meghan can, of course, say what she likes on Instagram. They [the Sussexes] are totally unpredictable.

“This will be the cause of much concern and makes one wonder why they are visiting the UK in early September, where they are popular with neither the public or the press.”

His remarks come after Meghan hinted she would be returning to Instagram in her interview with US magazine, The Cut.

She told US journalist Allison P. Davis: “Do you want to know a secret?

"I'm getting back…on Instagram."

The Duchess amassed more than three million followers on the platform when she was an actress on Suits and lifestyle writer on her own blog, The Tig.

However, she was forced to shut down all her social media accounts before marrying Prince Harry in May 2018 and joining the Royal Family as one of its working members.

An animal lover and foodie, the US actress’ accounts and blog The Tig were filled with wonderful photos of her travels, humanitarian work, delicious food and two beloved dogs.

But shortly after attending her first royal engagement of the year in 2018 with Harry, traces of Meghan’s life on social media disappeared.

She also turned her back on her successful acting career, which included her role as Rachel Zane in hit show popular legal drama Suits.

After becoming the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan was one of the four royals represented by the Kensington Royal Instagram and Twitter accounts @kensingtonroyal, alongside her husband and his brother Prince William and Kate.

Meghan complained that she had “no control” over which pictures of her children were released to the media.

She said: “It was a big adjustment — a huge adjustment to go from that kind of autonomy to a different life.

“There’s literally a structure by which if you want to release photos of your child, as a member of the family, you first have to give them to the Royal Rota.

“Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the N-word a photo of my child before I can share it with the people that love my child?

“You tell me how that makes sense and then I’ll play that game.”

After the Sussexes and the Cambridges split their households in the spring of 2019, Meghan and Harry remained without an official Twitter account but opened Sussex Royal on Instagram, which became their main means of communication directly with their fans.

However, the pair stopped using this in March 2020, just days before their sensational decision to exit the Firm as its working members.
