PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle were joined by Reverend Michael Curry who delivered a passionate sermon and dramatically stole the limelight – this is the Royal Family’s reaction.

The American preacher delivered an animated sermon on love at the – a contrast to what is typically seen at church services.

The US preacher's passionate address certainly woke up the congregation as he spoke energetically with plenty of hand waving.

Several members of the congregation could be seen smirking during the service.

Princess Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew, could be seen grinning during the fiery sermon. 

Daughter of Princess Anne, Zara Tindall, had a priceless reaction after the US bishop said he should probably stop talking and let the wedding proceed.

Footballer David Beckham was also one of the guests spotting smirking.

The Most Rev Bishop Michael Curry opened his address with the words of Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

In his speech, Bishop Curry said: "We must discover the power of love, the redemptive power of love. And when we discover that, we will be able to make of this old world a new world. Love is the only way."

He then said: "There's power in love. Don't underestimate it. Don't even over-sentimentalise. There is power, power in love."

The Chicago native added: "Love can help and heal when nothing else can. There's power in love to lift up and liberate when nothing else will."

He later added: "Two young people fell in love and we all showed up."

The Reverend is part of the Episcopal Church of the United States and is the first black presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church.

The Episcopal Church is the US offshoot of the Church of England and forms part of the broader Anglican Communion.

Meghan was baptised into the Anglican Church, which is headed by Harry's grandmother.
