Smuggler hid £60k in pants
A MAN who tried to smuggle £60,000 out of Britain in his underpants was jailed for four years yesterday for money laundering offences totalling almost £4million.
A sniffer dog stopped property salesman John Maurice, 68, as he boarded a Dover ferry to France.
He'd been regularly monitored taking £25,000 to £50,000 at a time to a bureau and changing it, Canterbury Crown Court heard.
Maurice, of Barnstaple, Devon, said the money was for "clients" buying furniture for Spanish properties.
