THE WEST MUST TAKE HEED AS RUSSIA SHOWS ITS CLAWS AGAIN

Sunday August 10,2008

What a terrible contrast the world has this weekend.

In China, the Olympics erupt in a blaze of glory while in Georgia, the town of Gori is also in flames.

But Gori burns and innocent civilians perish because Georgia is under attack from the military might of its neighbour – providing a sobering warning that the Russian bear has not been dead, just sleeping. And now it is flexing its military muscles again.

Indeed, in all the anguish about the economic dangers from China and the fundamentalist threat from the Middle East it has been easy to ignore the fact that Russia has been rearming and presents by far the greatest threat to the West.

It is less than two decades since the Iron Curtain came down, putting an end to the evils of communism – a time when Russia was feared for the threat it posed to the free world.

On top of that, Russia is led by a man who was one of the stalwarts of that regime. What fools we would be to think that Vladimir Putin was any friend of the West.

In Britain we have got so used to friendly oligarchs buying our football clubs that we have forgotten what a menace Russia presents.

And this is the same Russia that we are dependent on for fuel supplies. If, 10 years ago, Labour had taken the decision to go nuclear matters would be different. As it is, Heaven help us all.

THE WEST MUST TAKE HEED AS RUSSIA SHOWS ITS CLAWS AGAIN

I must confess to being taken aback by the generally hostile opinion of Russias' actions.

This potentially disastrous war is entirely the fault of the usual Anglo/US/Israel connivance. The French and the Germans know whats what here, hence their veto of the US push to include Georgia and the Ukraine into the new US Imperialist NATO.

Here is an article that thus far is probably the best available.

Russia has I believe showed impressive restraint in the face of immense provocation. Until I learn to the contrary, my hat is off to PM Vladimir Putin.

THE RUSSIAN PEASANT IS OFF AGAIN.

10.08.08, 7:31pm

Why is anyone surprised by the actions of that creepy little misfit, Mr. Putrid. Has Russia, with it's collection of hypersensitive paranoid idiots, ever been anything but one big troublemaker? The breakaway of Georgia has always wrankled Russian leaders, who only ever see independance as a dirty word. A threat. Power is everything to the bully. Size matters like nothing else - it allows intimidation and fear which Russkies thrive on. The Georgian leadership did not think that they would have such a problem develop, even though they knew that Russia had supplied arms galore to help the insurrection. All Putrid needed was an excuse, just like Hitler, and off we go again, all the innocents getting slaughtered while the polititions strut their stuff to microphones. There's been an article about Bruno's strange behavour, today - it appears he's off humans for a while. Strange?. Could it be the guy is on the right track?.
