Jose Bosingwa

Thursday July 24,2008

Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari expects to learn more about the injury status of Portugal defender Jose Bosingwa later on Thursday.

The 25-year-old played just 20 minutes of his Chelsea debut on Wednesday as the Blues kicked off their pre-season tour of Asia and Russia with a 4-0 win over Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Pharmaceutical.

Scolari said: "The doctor will see him later today (Thursday) and then we will have more details about whether he will stay with us until we return to London at the end of the tour or will return home now. We will have more details later today or tonight and then we will decide what is best."

Chelsea initially insisted Bosingwa was withdrawn as a precautionary measure after complaining of a minor thigh problem, but it was later revealed he would undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.
