First up was Iain, who got the ball rolling by adding £5,000 to the jackpot prize, but the same couldn’t be said for Coronation Street actress Jennie who failed to make it back with her contribution of £6,000.

Though when it came to the third player facing The Chaser, Shandi had the host in a frenzy when she decided to play by her own rules.

After accumulating £2,000 during her cash builder round, the comedian decided to take the chaser’s higher offer of £60,000 after hearing advice from her fellow contestants.

Shappi’s attempt at making it back for the final chase didn’t get off to a flying start when the comedian pressed her buzzer prematurely.

However, the I’m A Celebrity star thought she would gain the upper hand on the buzzer next time when Bradley asked a question regarding the design of swimming pools, asking Shappi and Jenny: “What name is given to a swimming pool designed to look like it has no edges?”

Before the host had finished reading through the choices of answers, Shappi locked in her answer as B. Infinity pool, meaning Bradley couldn’t finish reading the other options.

Shocked by Shappi’s rapid response to answering the question, Bradley was left gobsmacked, telling the comedian: “That is against all the rules.

“You have to wait until I finish reading A, B and C before you press any buttons,” the host jokingly reprimanded Shappi before warning her: “Next time that happens, you’re out.”

After a brief pause as he tried to regain composure, Bradley went on to reveal Shappi’s answer, but not before addressing her mistake again, saying: “You put, rather too quickly, Infinity pool.

“Did you know that?” Bradley asked the comedian, with Shappi explaining: “Yeah, because I went on holiday once and the hotel I stayed in, the hotel next door to it had an infinity pool.”

Although she tried her best, Shappi lost out to the Chaser, meaning she followed in the footsteps of her former campmate Jennie by failing to making it back to the final chase.

However, viewers applauded the comedian’s efforts as the only celebrity to take the Chaser’s higher offer, taking to Twitter to voice their appraisal.

One posted: “@ShappiKhorsandi damn!! Wish you’d have made it through on #TheChase but you were brilliantly funny and entertaining whilst it lasted!!” whilst another remarked: “Shappi Khorsandi is a national treasure #TheChase.”

Last but not least was Stanley, who also faced some light-hearted remarks by the host as it seemed the former I’m A Celebrity star hadn’t grasped the idea of the quiz show.

When Iain first faced Jenny and had the lower and higher offers stipulated to him, Stanley suggested his former campmate take the lower offer.

Stunned by Stanley’s suggestion, Bradley jokingly asked: “Do you know how this show works?” before telling Iain: “I don’t think he’s watched many of these shows.”

Stanley managed to make it back for the final chase alongside Iain, adding £5,000 to the jackpot prize, but their efforts were in vain as Jenny beat the pair with time to spare.
