EastEnders' Kim Fox concerned about how children will 'cope' without their mother

EastEnders favourite Kim Fox has been going through a tough time lately as she battles PTSD following a car accident that left Danzel Danes hospitalised.

Kim Fox (played by Tameka Empson) was involved in a collision she caused that left her partner, Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) furious as she badly injured his son, Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega).

Ever since, the usually-upbeat character has been withdrawn and become very anxious.

With her court trial for the incident coming up, Kim is set to face a tough day.

Kim actress Tameka opened up about Kim's concerns as she reflected on her character's storyline.

Talking about the beautician's biggest fears, she explained: "[She fears] that she won’t be able to cope and that she’ll break down in such a way that she can’t rebuild herself again.

"She’s got young children, so she’s got anxiety about them – how will they cope?

"How long will she be away for if she’s in prison?

"I think she’s built it up so much in her head because she hasn’t been open to anyone about it."

The actress continued: "When you think prison, you just think Phil Mitchell or Janine but now it might be her.

"Unlike Phil and Janine though, Kim hasn’t lived that kind of her life so she’s going into a scenario where she won’t have any control and she’s thinking the worst."

The EastEnders star also opened up about Denzel giving a testimony in court.

"It hurts her that he has to take the stand but she’s touched that he wants to give a statement for her," Tameka explained.

"Over time and especially since the accident, he’s really been there for her so it really touches her heart and she’s seen him in a different light.

"As bad as it was and it could have been worse, I think it shows he’s forgiven her and still has the time, love and respect to do that for her."

Will Kim manage to evade a jail sentence? And if she is sent to prison, will her daughter Pearl Fox (Arayah Harris-Buckles) and son Mica Fox (NO ACTOR NAME) be able to get through the ordeal without her mother?

EastEnders continues on Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
