Lopetegui was fired by Real Madrid on Monday after a terrible series of results.
Most notably, Madrid were smashed 5-1 by Barcelona at the Nou Camp in El Clasico on Sunday, the final straw for president Florentino Perez.
Madrid find themselves ninth in La Liga, seven points behind league leaders Barca.
Supporters let their feelings towards Lopetegui be known as they jeered and whistled the Spaniard at home games towards the end of his spell at the club.
Lopetegui joined Madrid on the eve of the World Cup kicking off, and was sacked by Spain as a result.
At the time, he was preparing as Spain manager for their first group game of the tournament.
After Madrid announced the appointment, the Spanish Football Federation (SFF) sacked Lopetgui.
When he went to Madrid, he took several members of his backroom staff with him.

He tweeted a picture of himself with the Madrid training pitches in the background.
“The dream is over!” he posted.
