Man United: Mourinho WANTS the sack says Jake Wood
Manchester United executive vice-chairman Woodward has been tipped to sack Mourinho in recent times with his relationship with Pogba on the rocks.
The France international is a blockbuster talent but, in recent times, has suffered an alarming dip in form. As a result, transfer links to both Barcelona and Juventus have arisen.
Pogba was benched for Manchester United’s 4-1 win over Fulham and, more alarmingly for the 25-year-old, was not missed either.
Jose Mourinho’s side looked fluid and ruthless with Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera anchoring in the middle of the park.
Many feel, however, the United boss has already left it too late to get his side fully firing.
Given Mourinho’s own struggles in the job, Woodward has been tipped to replace him with one of Zinedine Zidane or Mauricio Pochettino.
However, Goal claim that Woodward is persisting with Mourinho for the time being.
They do say, though, that the reasons why are currently unclear.
It could, however, be down to United’s determination to save themselves a small fortune.

Mourinho signed a contract extension at the club back in January, with the deal containing a secret clause.
Should United finish outside the top four, Mourinho’s pay-out will be significantly less.
Another factor could be because of the lack of candidates available.
Zidane has emerged as the frontrunner for the job but the challenge at Old Trafford would be even greater than it was at his previous club, Real Madrid.
Antonio Conte, out of work since leaving Chelsea, has also been mooted.
But the Italian’s strict and firm approach could prevent United from hiring him.
