The former England international singled out six key reasons for his claim which are: a lack of creativity, dealing with long balls, tracking runners, no width, gaps at the back and the famous Anfield atmosphere.
He told the Daily Mail: “It is not looking good for Arsenal on Saturday night - particularly given the way they finished the match against Brighton.
"Having started the game by creating plenty of opportunities, they ran out of ideas going forward in the second half.”
Arsenal had taken a first-half lead over Brighton but Jurgen Locadia’s equaliser meant the Gunners left the South Coast with a solitary point.
Keown continued: “Defensively, they suffered from long balls into the box and struggled to pick up any good movement from Brighton’s forwards.
“Arsenal’s only width comes from their full backs. Sead Kolasinac has done well at left back since returning to the side but he has too much to do. When he does get forward, he leaves a gaping hole behind him.”

Liverpool’s victory over Newcastle coupled with Manchester City’s defeat at Leicester means Klopp’s side sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League after 19 games.
Keown added: “Anfield has always been a tough place to go. Now Liverpool have a team that matches the incredible atmosphere.”
Arsenal suffered another blow this week as Unai Emery was fined by the Football Association for kicking a bottle which hit a Brighton fan on Boxing Day.
“It looks like he is being charged so the FA can be consistent,” Keown said.

I don't think Emery could have done much more to apologise than he did
Martin Keown
“It's a bit like referees showing a yellow card to someone who has taken off their shirt while celebrating a goal. It has to be done.
“I don't think Emery could have done much more to apologise than he did. The way he quickly dealt with the situation shows you the measure of the man.”
If Liverpool beat Arsenal on Saturday and Manchester City on January 3 then they would have at least a nine-point lead in the race for the title.
City face Southampton on Sunday in a fixture they desperately need to win to get their season back on track.
