Liverpool’s greatest concern is a back-up defender
Duncan Castles
Castles reckons Liverpool are desperate to sign a back-up defender to provide cover at Anfield.
“A year after they broke a transfer record to begin the transformation of their defence with Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool’s greatest concern is a back-up defender,” Castles wrote in The Times.
“The league leaders have been attempting to extend Alberto Moreno’s contract beyond June, but the left-back wants a return to Spain.”
Liverpool have been solid defensively following the arrivals of Virgil van Dijk in January and Alisson in the summer.
