And former Leeds right-back Mills has slammed full-back Trippier for the needless mistake in the crunch clash at Wembley.
“The ball was given away by Kieran Trippier unnecessarily,” Mills said on BBC Radio 5 Live. “He tried to play it blind.
“And it's exactly what I was talking about.
“That's what Manchester United have been looking for - that one incisive ball through, using the pace of Rashford, and he picks out a brilliant finish right into the far corner.

“This is not an easy finish.
“He's wide, the angle's not particularly favourable, and he puts it just beyond the outstretched fingertips of Lloris, just inside the far post.”
Rashford was picked ahead of Romelu Lukaku again while Alexis Sanchez is out injured.
And Manchester United caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed the problem the club have with Sanchez.

“We’ve had the issue with his injury – that’s been the problem here now,” Solskjaer said.
“So he’s not really had a chance to prove himself or show what he can do and it will still take time before we can fairly say that Alexis is 100 per cent fit and he’s had many games on the run.
“Then we expect to see the best level that he can perform to.”
