BBC Sport man David Ornstein revealed Arsenal’s interest in the 29-year-old on Twitter, exciting Gunners fans about the possible deal.
"#AFC want loan with £35m option to buy. 29yo open to #Inter exit,” Ornstein wrote.
"Fits plan of versatile midfielder e.g. Suarez (still possible) / Nkunku + winger. Unclear if injuries mean defender wanted but Sokratis not bad."
The news comes after former Arsenal midfielder Steve Sidwell fumed at the transfer dealings of his former club after their FA Cup exit.

“What is going on with Arsenal, first and foremost, is that the transfer policy is just outrageous,” Sidwell told the Debate.
“They have gone in to this stadium to generate money and compete with the top teams in this league and to go into this window and only getting loans is just, I mean it is just ridiculous."
Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League - with the Europa League now their only realistic chance of silverware this season.
