Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool outcasts among highest-paid Premier League stars yet to play
CHELSEA fans will be furious to learn how much some of their players are earning, despite not having played a minute of Premier League football this season.
And now further research has revealed that two Chelsea outcasts are among the top 10 highest-paid top-flight players who are yet to feature in the Premier League this season.
Analysis conducted by TheSportsman.com reveals Danny Drinkwater has earned £2million in wages since the start of the campaign, despite being frozen out by Sarri at Stamford Bridge.
It is not just Chelsea who are overpaying their fringe players, with both Liverpool and Manchester United offering huge wages to their reserve goalkeepers.
Long-term injuries have played a factor in some stars not getting any Premier League match action, but others have merely struggled to make an impression on their managers this season – so which overpaid outcasts make up the top 10?
