And Valverde responded: "I don't really understand the question, when you're asking about a defensive team are you referring to Lyon or to us?"
The 55-year-old then followed up with a sarcastic comment.
"Us? Yes, of course we're very defensive,” he said.
"We'll try to shut up shop and not allow them to score and, if we're lucky score one of our own."
Barca are sitting top of La Liga having scored 69 goals this season in 27 games, a huge 22 strikes more than third-place Real Madrid and nearly double that of Atletico Madrid in second.

But Valverde is aware that shocks can happen in the Champions League, having witnessed Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid crash out.
“What we saw with PSG and Real Madrid, who were both knocked out, tells you that this competition demands maximum concentration,” he said.
“We’re under pressure to make the next round, as is everyone else.
“We’re focusing on the game we plan to play and if we can generate as many chances as we did in the first leg, I think we’ll go through.”
