Man Utd: Transfer priority should be in midfield says Vidic
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Koulibaly, who has established himself as one of the best defenders in world football during his time in Serie A with Napoli.
Express Sport understands the Senegal international is on the Red Devils’ radar as they seek a top centre-back signing.
Manchester United currently have Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo as defensive options.
But Solskjaer, like predecessor Jose Mourinho before him, craves the arrival of another player.

“There’s five players, but to enable United to get those five players, this is the list I would give the board to take into serious consideration.
“If there were offers for these players to cut the squad, I would listen to offers for these players: Darmian, Rojo, Bailly, Matic, Young, Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Mata, Fred, Herrera and Lukaku.”
United were expected to sign as many as five players last summer.
But Mourinho landed just three with Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant all touching down at Old Trafford.
