Goals from Sergio Aguero and Rodrigo weren’t enough for Pep Guardiola’s side, who clearly missed the injured Laporte.
French centre-back Laporte is set to be out until next year as a result of the knee injury he suffered against Brighton, leaving John Stones and Otamendi as their only two choices in the middle of defence.
Otamendi had a poor game at Carrow Road, and was responsible for Norwich’s winner as he was pickpocketed by Emiliano Buendia, who in turn set up Teemu Pukki for an easy tap-in.
Speaking on Match of the Day, Jenas urged Guardiola to consider dropping Otamendi in place of either Kyle Walker or Fernandinho.

The pundit team discussed the emphasis on passing out of the box from the back, and Jenas suggested that this style of football would suit Fernandinho a lot more.
“It’s a tricky one for a manager,” Jenas said, “Because he doesn’t want to lose Otamendi.
“When I say lose, I mean by having made that mistake, benching him immediately could lose a player like that.
“He hasn’t played a lot prior to that, either.

“But in my mind, he’ll be having a serious look at the Fernandinho situation at centre-half on the basis of what you’ve just shown me.
“Because if it’s about passing the ball and playing out from the back, Fernandinho will be at the top of all those stats, because he’s better than all of them at passing the ball.
“He’s got options, though, he’s still got the option of putting Kyle Walker in there as a back three and putting [Joao] Cancelo as a right-wing-back.
“There’s no doubt he’s going to have to dig deep in his arsenal now and try and get out of this situation.”
