Arsenal fan warns club to not hire Ljungberg early like Solskjaer
Freddie Ljungberg may not be able to put together a successful defence at Arsenal, claims his former Gunners team-mate Lee Dixon. Arsenal legend Ljungberg has been placed in interim charge at the Emirates following the sacking of Unai Emery on Friday. One of the Swede’s major tasks will be to reduce the number of goals his side are conceding.

“He was in a position where, we see where he sits, he sits pretty close to the manager, he’s in that coaching inner-circle, so he’s in there.
‘Was he doing a lot? He’s getting used to the situation, I don’t think he was doing an awful lot as in a day-to-day coaching of the team.
“I don’t know, to be honest with you, I don’t know if Freddie Ljungberg can go and set a back four up with a holding-midfield player.
“When he was at the top of the pitch looking back at us lot doing it, he was kind of going ‘They know what they’re doing, I’ll concentrate on making these brilliant, intelligent runs’, which is what his game was all based on.

Dixon added: “If you took that group of players now that they’ve got, don’t change anybody, and give it to George Graham for a month, the whole team, group, we would be 50 per cent better than we are right now, just from a month’s training with George Graham.
“Play no games, just let George Graham have them for a month. I’m telling you they would improve.”
Speaking to the official Arsenal website, Ljungberg says he is confident of improving things during his time in charge.
“Of course I am confident, otherwise I wouldn't have taken it when they asked me to help,” he said.

“If I didn't feel I could help them I wouldn't have done it, so of course I am confident in that way.
“I really feel that this club can all be brought together and put some smiles onto people's faces again.”
Arsenal face a trip to Norwich in Ljungberg's first game in charge on Sunday in the Premier League.
