Rangers boss Steven Gerrard reacts to win at Celtic
Rangers are interested in Stoke City youngster Tyrese Campbell and the club have already tabled an offer to the striker. Hutton thinks Rangers have been “brilliant” in their recent dealings in the transfer market and is backing the club to do it again with Campbell.
The 20-year-old has struggled to cement a place in Stoke’s first team this season, although he has still managed to score four goals in his last four appearances in the Championship for the Potters.
He only has six months remaining on his current deal with Stoke, and his recent performances are only likely to add to the number of interested teams in the forward.
Rangers face competition for the England under-20 international from Celtic, as well as several Premier League clubs, including Wolves, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.
However, Rangers and Celtic have an advantage over their southern competitors, as that they can use cross-border rules to sign Campbell for around £300,000 in the summer.

Whilst English clubs interested in Campbell, would likely have to pay Stoke millions in compensation.
And Hutton believes Rangers are making the most of the transfer opportunities given to them.
“It’s brilliant, it’s a part of the market they’re taking advantage of, if another English club were to try and get him it would probably cost them a couple of million,” he told Football Insider.

Campbell also impressed scouts during his debut for England under-20s when he grabbed a brace against Portugal in November.
Stoke manager Michael O’Neill wants to keep the young striker at the bet365 Stadium, but Hutton thinks with bigger clubs like Rangers interested in Campbell that the player will leave.
“Playing football, it’ll be difficult to break in, the Rangers front line is very strong,” Hutton added.
“So he’ll have to work hard to get in but I think he would see it as a great opportunity to play in front of 50,000 and in Europe.”
Rangers have already offered Campbell a long-term contract, but are also exploring other ways to beat any other interested teams.

Gerrard wants to add to his attacking options in January and while the club do not expect Campbell to unseat their main striker Alfredo Morelos, the youngster would be a good back-up option, along with Jermain Defoe, as he continues his development.
Although when the 37-year-old was recently asked about Campbell’s possible arrival at Ibrox, the former Tottenham and England striker insisted he didn’t know much about it.
"I don't know,” Defoe said. “We'll see what happens."
