"I was actually told that Liverpool won't be signing anyone in the next window.
"If you would have asked me in January, I would have been pretty confident of one or two signings coming in to immediately bolster that first team squad.
"Since then things have obviously changed.

Liverpool were expected to bolster their squad in the summer transfer window.
Alongside Werner, there was talk that another attacker would come in as back up.
Werder Bremen's Milot Rashica has been linked with the club with the future of Xherdan Shaqiri looking uncertain.
A defender could also be on the agenda with Dejan Lovren potentially heading towards the exit door.
