Sancho arrived at Dortmund well into Klopp's Liverpool tenure and has since taken the Bundesliga by storm.
The Premier League leaders are one of several clubs keeping tabs on his progress.
Dortmund are reportedly ready to sell him at the end of the season, should their £87million valuation be met.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Klopp has been in contact with his Dortmund connections to get all the latest on Sancho.
It's thought that he's asked to be kept updated on Sancho's situation and whether he may become available in the coming months.
