Man Utd: Jack Grealish 'would fit in well' at club says expert
Manchester United remain open to signing Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish despite Jadon Sancho currently being their priority, reports say. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made Sancho his No 1 target, with Ed Woodward continuing to work on a possible deal. But it appears Grealish could yet make the move to Old Trafford, too.
Manchester United remain locked in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a possible deal for Sancho.
However, a deal that would take the 20-year-old to Old Trafford this transfer window is currently in limbo - and proving difficult to broker.
United don’t want to meet Dortmund’s £108million asking price for Sancho at a time where the coronavirus crisis is still very much ongoing.
Having worked so hard during the pandemic, aiding the emergency services and encouraging staff to do their bit, United don’t want to be seen as exploiting the transfer market.
With Sancho currently the priority, talk of Solskjaer moving for Grealish has cooled in recent weeks.
Yet The Athletic say that United are still firm admirers of the 24-year-old and interest remains.

Grealish, for his part, is said to be open to the prospect of moving to United this summer despite Villa staying in the Premier League for another season.
And, if he signs, he’d likely play second fiddle to first-choice midfield duo Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba at the Theatre of Dreams.
United are said to admire Grealish for his leadership credentials, with the attacker guiding Villa throughout a turbulent Premier League campaign.
And United also rate the Villa star for his ability to carry the ball upfield.
Meanwhile, former United star Ryan Giggs recently opened up on Sancho and Grealish - and urged his old side to recruit both this summer.
“I think the thing with Grealish is he’s obviously used to the Premier League and doesn’t need to adapt to it so that’s good.
“For me from the outside, it looks like he’s got the mentality to come to this place and not bother him. Certain players can get overawed.
“Also, the good thing this year is he’s got ten goals and got into double figures so that would be one question mark I would have had with him: does he score enough goals? To get to double figures with no penalties for Villa is impressive.
“Sancho is quick, direct but also an intelligent player.
“What I like about him is when he gets into them areas with the final ball, he doesn’t panic. A lot of quick wide players sometimes do but he picks out the right pass.
“He’s someone who can counter-attack if we’re going to play that but also if a team are going to sit back, he can beat players and make things happen.
“They are two signings that may be available and if we’re able to get them, I would go and get them.”
United may also sell up to five players this summer to raise transfer funds.
Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Diogo Dalot may all be cut loose as Solskjaer eyes the league title next time out.
