Liverpool's defence appears to have got 'complacent' says Dunn
England boss Gareth Southgate says it was "upsetting" to see Joe Gomez in "a fair bit of pain" when he suffered his injury in training on Wednesday. Gomez has picked up a serious-looking knee injury and has withdrawn from the England squad for the upcoming matches against the Republic of Ireland, Belgium and Iceland. The news comes as a further blow to Liverpool who are already struggling with high-profile defensive absentees.
Southgate refused to comment on the severity of the problem but admitted it didn't look good as there was nobody around Gomez when he suffered the injury.
"I can't tell you how serious it is because he is yet to have scans," Southgate said.
"What was upsetting to see, he was in a fair bit of pain. There was nobody around him when the injury happened. I didn't like that element of it.
"But we've just got to wait and see what the scans show. We're all hopeful for him that it's not what it might be. But it's not a good situation.

Joel Matip is back fit but has been hampered by injuries in the last 12 months which has restricted him to just five Premier League appearances in that period of time.
That leaves Rhys Williams, 19, and Nat Phillips as the only other recognised options in the middle of defence for Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp is also set to be without right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold for up to a month due to a calf injury.
