Arsenal welcome Marcelo Bielsa's high-flying Leeds to the Emirates this weekend in a must-win game.
The Gunners are below the newly-promoted side in the Premier League table, and could fall further behind them with a defeat.
Arteta's side have regressed slightly after a strong spell of results, and have lost twice on the spin in the Premier League.
With that in mind, club legend Alan Smith believes Arteta needs to change his side around for the game against Leeds, who are known for their high-intensity football.

Writing in his column for the Evening Standard, Smith explained that the Arsenal manager can't afford to play Pepe, because the Ivorian is too passive out of possession.
The winger has been criticised for his performances this season, and was sent off in the reverse fixture between the two sides for headbutting Ezgjan Alioski.
And Smith believes Martinelli will be a better option on the left wing, because the young Brazilian has the pace and energy to match Leeds' intensity.
Martinelli, 19, is still putting his devastating knee injury behind him and as a result has only started three times in the league for Arteta's side this season.

Smith explained: "For Arteta, then, team selection becomes crucial in trying to counter this unique challenge.
"Who wants to run? Who wants to fight?
"Just one idle attitude can topple the house of cards at a time when Arsenal badly need a morale-boosting win.
"For that reason, I would go with the energy of Gabriel Martinelli rather than the laid-back style of Pepe who, for all his improvements, does not react quickly enough when Arsenal lose the ball.
