Manchester United now appear to be well and truly out of the Premier League title race after Manchester City extended their lead to 12 points. The Red Devils failed to score against Chelsea in a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.

This may either suggest that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is playing it safe against the sides that can cause his side more danger, or they lack attacking impetus against better defences.
That seemed to be the case against Chelsea, with very few clear cut goalscoring chances opening up for the visitors.
Speaking about his side’s performance, Solskjaer said: "Defensively, energy, application, attitude, pressing. Spot on. With the ball not good enough. Not enough quality.
“We didn't create the chances we hoped for. If we score on that breakaway when it was two against one that's the perfect away performance. Or if you get the penalty."
Solskjaer made the surprise decision to drop first choice striker Anthony Martial, with Mason Greenwood replacing the Frenchman up front.
Explaining the call, the Norwegian added: ”Mason's done really well. Marcus has scored plenty of goals. I think you can see why Dan James played - absolutely top.
“His energy, pressing, the threat in behind he gives us. Absolutely top. Anthony will keep on playing for us and score goals."
