West Ham United will make a late move to sign Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard ahead of tonight's transfer deadline, according to reports. The Hammers are set to pursue a cut-price deal for Lingard in the closing hours of the summer transfer window.

According to the Daily Mirror, West Ham will make a last-ditch effort to sign Lingard but don't intend to meet Man United's £30million asking price.
With a year left on his current deal, the Hammers won't pay 'anywhere near' United's valuation of Lingard.
Instead of signing the England international on a free transfer next summer, West Ham hope to capture him on a cut-price deal this week.
David Moyes wants him to return to the London Stadium, where his scintillating form last season helped the club to a sixth-place Premier League finish.

West Ham completed the £30m signing of Kurt Zouma from Chelsea on Sunday, bolstering Moyes' defensive options.
The club are also closing in on a £25m move for CSKA Moscow attacker Nikola Vlasic, which many presumed spelt the end of Lingard's chances of returning.
But Moyes seemingly wants to add both players to his attack and improve the depth of his squad ahead of a long season.
The Hammers' involvement in the Europa League will demand a bigger squad to protect Moyes' top stars from injury.

Lingard may not be the only forward to leave Man United before Tuesday's transfer deadline.
Leeds are in advanced talks to complete the permanent signing of Daniel James, in a deal potentially worth £20m.
James has started in two of United's three Premier League games so far this season but would see his game time cut when Marcus Rashford and Ronaldo enter the fray.
Whether the late movement on outgoings will spark a deadline day move for a midfielder remains to be seen.
