DUNDEE United manager Jackie McNamara has demanded a bonus for Partick Thistle’s First Division title win – even though he left the club just over three months ago.
The Jags yesterday received a letter from representatives of McNamara – who departed Firhill in late January – requesting a payment following the Jags’ promotion.
McNamara signed a one-year rolling contract with Partick but then quit to take up the vacant managerial position at Tannadice. Express Sport understands Thistle feel any obligation to pay a bonus ended after McNamara resigned from his position.
This is the second legal wrangle since McNamara’s departure. In March, the Jags threatened legal action, insisting there was a clause in his new contract which entitled them to compensation should he depart.
