Bale has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League at the end of the season with United having set aside over £100m to fund the move.
Reports earlier this week suggested that Real were keen to get United keeper David De Gea as part of the deal.
But it seems that Real also want Hazard as a more direct replacement for Bale.
Jose Mourinho insists it is only a matter of time until Hazard signs a new deal at Stamford Bridge and that the Belgian can go on to become a Chelsea great.

Gareth Bale could be sold by Real Madrid
Real Madrid want Eden Hazard and David De Gea
But reports in France claim that the sparkling form of Spanish duo Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa could see Hazard deemed surplus to requirements.
It seems incredibly unlikely that Chelsea would be open to a move, particularly given how well the 23-year-old has played alongside Fabregas and Costa.
But Real Madrid have a habit of landing even the most outlandish transfer targets and will undoubtedly push hard for Hazard if Bale departs.
