Alan Pardew believes that a winter World Cup can still be a success
FIFA chiefs have revealed that due to excruciatingly hot temperatures during the summer, the prestigious tournament will be held later in December.
The decision to move the timings of the World Cup has caused outrage in England, with the FA and many pundits criticising FIFA’s stance.
Qatar insists that the tournament will still be a major success, and Pardew has sided with those who believe that, as playing in the winter is the only option, clubs in England have to accept the decision and move on.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash against West Ham (12.45pm), the Eagles manager explained “England fans and players certainly wouldn’t benefit from a World Cup held in the summer there.
“Qatar won the process and in football we have to understand that it will be in the winter and we have to deal with it.
“(Can it be a success?) Why not? Most World Cups are.”
