The centre-back has been attracting interest from a number of elite European sides this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich believed to be monitoring the situation.
Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and West Ham have also been touted as possible destinations, with Abdennour apparently keen on a Premier League switch.
Express Sport reported earlier this week that Atletico Madrid had made an £11.5million bid for the Tunisia international, with Diego Simeone looking to replace Miranda following his move to Inter Milan.
And Spanish newspaper Marca claims that talks between Abdennour and Atletico are well under way after a representative from the La Liga side jetted out to Monaco.

Simeone is said to be closing in on a move for Belgian winger Yannick Ferreira Carrasco, and is also looking to complete a transfer for Abdennour.
Atletico have already enjoyed a busy transfer window this summer, parting ways with stars including Mario Mandzukic and Arda Turan in order to sign Jackson Martinez and Luciano Vietto.
