And while he has enjoyed a meteoric rise since moving to the south coast in 2008, the Frenchman says he still isn't the finished product.
"I'm not a finished product," he told MUTV.
"Every year I have the feeling that I have progressed, that I have learnt from every manager at Southampton but now I know that I will get better because I'm going to play with better players and the best manager in the world.

"He's a massive manager who has trained the best teams in the world and when I spoke with him he wants big for Manchester United and this team," Schneiderlin added.
"He made me understand how big the club is and the importance of doing the right thing and playing well, so for me it was a big part and I look forward to training with him and progressing, because I'm still young and I know I can improve here."
