Newcastle's Fabricio Coloccini is reportedly wanted by former manager Alan Pardew
The Crystal Palace manager is seeking new recruits ahead of the season after already capturing ex-Magpies midfielder Yohan Cabaye.
Coloccini, 33, joined Newcastle in 2008 and became a key player during Pardew's reign at St James' Park.
The Eagles manager wants defensive recruits after reportedly missing out on Swansea centre-half Ashley Williams.
Liverpool have competition to sign Moussa Sissoko as Chelsea emerged as favourites to land the midfielder.
The Reds have spent big on seven players this summer but it appears manager Brendan Rodgers will continue to scour to transfer market for new recruits.
But Sissoko has also caught the eye, according to the Star, of Chelsea, who have so far made just two signings this summer.
Tottenham are also reportedly keen but have failed to make an offer for the player, leaving Liverpool and Chelsea free to potentially swoop in.
