Ac Milan join Everton, Tottenham and Newcastle in race for European ace

AC MILAN have joined Everton, Tottenham and Newcastle in the race for defender Andrea Ranocchia, according to reports.

The Italian has been linked with a a move away from Inter Milan as his frustrations begin to mount after falling down the pecking order behind Joao Miranda and Jeison Murillo.

And according to Italian broadcaster Mediaset Premium [via talkSPORT] Inter's rivals Milan are weighing up a January move.

The Magpies had been favourites to sign the 27-year-old with manager Steve McClaren seeing Ranocchia as a replacement for captain Fabricio Coloccini.

Ranocchia is currently under contract at Inter until 2019 but looks set to have plenty of options available should he want to depart the San Siro in January.

The defender joined Inter in 2011 from Genoa and has 20 international caps to his name.

Ranocchia has been included in Italy's squad for their final two Euro 2016 qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Norway.
