Louis van Gaal has handed a trial to Livingston's 16-year-old Matthew Knox
The striker currently plays for Livingston and was on the bench for the Scottish club's 4-1 defeat to Rangers at the weekend.
Knox has been on the books at the Scottish side since he was 11 after being given his chance on a work experience placement by former Celtic and Portsmouth forward Mark Burchill.
He became the club's youngest ever player when he made his debut in the 4-1 Boxing Day win over St Mirren.
But he caught the eye of United in the summer with his display in a friendly against Real Sociedad.
