Liverpool are keepign tabs on Manchester City midfielder Fernando
The Brazilian has been in and out of Manuel Pellegrini’s starting XI this season, but has failed to score a goal.
Fernando is contracted at the Etihad until 2019, but Porto, the 28-year-old’s former club, believe incoming boss Pep Guardiola won’t be including him in his plans when he takes the reins at the end of the campaign.
Porto are ready to make a move for him in the transfer window, but according to The Sun, Liverpool are ready to try and hijack a deal.
The report claims the Reds are not willing to pay more than £10m for his services.
Jurgen Klopp is said to be a big fan of the midfielder and sees him as an ideal signing to provide healthy competition to his midfield.
Another City midfielder that could be on his way out of Manchester is Yaya Toure.
The Ivorian’s future is undecided with Guardiola set to have the final say on whether he stays or goes.
It’s understood Toure wants to stay in England if the 45-year-old shows him the exit door.
