Balague has now revealed a promising update from a United perspective as the next transfer window looms large.
"The offer De Gea has got from Manchester United will not be matched by Real Madrid," Balague told Sky Sports.
"He has been closer to joining Real Madrid in the past than he is now."

Jose Mourinho is adamant David De Gea will not leave Manchester United in the summer
United boss Jose Mourinho was in a defiant mood when asked last week if De Gea could move in the summer, responding: "No chance."
De Gea won his fourth Player of the Year accolade in five seasons at United’s awards ceremony on Tuesday night.
He’ll be eager to further his lead in the Premier League’s Golden Glove stakes when he lines up against Brighton tonight.
De Gea has kept 17 clean sheets in 35 appearances this season, two more than City’s Ederson, who’s currently second in the standings.
