The Blues are taking on Liverpool in their penultimate home game of the season.
And ahead of kick-off, legendary boxing announcer Buffer was called up to read the team-sheets.
Buffer was in London this weekend for Tony Bellew’s rematch with David Haye, during which the Liverpudlian won in a fifth-round knockout.
And to make the most of his time in the capital, Buffer then headed to west London for Chelsea’s clash with Liverpool.
He altered his trademark: "Let's get ready to rumble", to "let's get ready to football".
However, Buffer’s appearance at Stamford Bridge ended with the American getting sprayed by a nearby sprinkler.
And fans were quick to comment on his misfortune.
“Funniest thing of the season…Michael Buffer drenched by a sprinkler while reading the teams at Stamford Bridge (sic),” said one supporter.
Another wrote: “Special guest pitch announcer Michael Buffer has just been soaked by the sprinkler! #letsgetreadytotumbledry.”
A third said: “Let’s get ready to football” Michael Buffer fully deserved to be soaked by that sprinkler the absolute wet wipe.”
