Mohamed Salah was subdued against Chelsea

That is the damning verdict of Match of the Day pundit Jermaine Jenas.

Salah had a rare off day for Liverpool, as he fired blanks in a 1-0 defeat away to Chelsea on Sunday.

Olivier Giroud netted the only goal of the game to breathe life into the Blues' chances of a top-four finish.

The Egyptian has been a revelation this term and has been instrumental for the Reds in their run to the Champions League final too, scoring 43 goals in all competitions.

When they did get into good positions around the box, Salah had one of the worst games I think he has had in a Liverpool shirt

After being crowned PFA Player of the Year and the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year, the 25-year-old has been nothing short of sensational.

But against the Blues, he was largely isolated and was unable to exert his usual influence on the game.

And Jenas thinks it was one of his WORST performances for the Anfield outfit to date.

Mo Salah jokes he saved goals for the final to win Ballon d'Or

Describing Salah’s display, Jenas said: “When they did get into good positions around the box, Salah had one of the worst games I think he has had in a Liverpool shirt.

“He is entitled to have a bad game given the season he has had, but Liverpool need to fix this quickly because they have got two of the most important games of their whole season coming up.”

Liverpool have just one game left of the Premier League season against Brighton on Sunday (3pm) and need a win to secure a top-four finish.
