Liverpool University lecturer Maguire, who helped bring about the Glazers’ takeover of Manchester United back in 2003, has now made a worrying revelation for Chelsea fans though.
"If Abramovich sells Chelsea, the alarm bells really start ringing," Maguire told the Daily Star.
"They have proposals for a new stadium but there is no information about how that is going to be financed.

"So somehow they've got to find nearly a billion pounds to construct it.
"The perception is that Abramovich is going to put in a significant amount of it, or is going to guarantee the loan.
"If a new owner comes in, then that is an immediate huge project that they've got to finance on top of the cost of buying the club.

"There will be very few people who would be able to do that – you'd be looking at the Middle East if they do that."
Russian oligarch Abramovich is not thought to be weighing up flogging Chelsea in the immediate future.
But he is known to have grown frustrated with the team’s performances under Antonio Conte this season.
Abramovich is also reportedly facing the prospect of having to explain how he acquired his fortune before he receives a new visa to live and work in the UK.
