THE Los Angeles Lakers have continued their poor start to the season with a third consecutive loss as questions are already being asked on what lies ahead

Anthony Davis was humiliated in the Los Angeles Lakers' third loss of the season on Sunday when he was left wide open for a three point shot and hit the side of the backboard. Portland Trail Blazers center Josef Nurkic didn't even bother attempting to challenge the attempt, instead turning his back before Davis embarrassingly hit his shot straight off the backboard.

The Lakers fell to 0-3 on Sunday evening when they surrended a 10-point league in the fourth quarter, with the likes of Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverley and their bench players continuing to struggle offensively.

This has left LeBron James and Davis to carry the load offensively, something the two have actually done rather well, with James averaging 27 points and Davis 25 points through the first three games.

However, all three have been somewhat embarrassing defeats, coming against the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers and Trailblazers as they prepare for a tough upcoming schedule.

The Lakers are now 0-3 to start the season

The Lakers did little to their off-season to improve this summer after a desperately disappointing season, winning just 33 games and missing the play-offs - something unthinkable when you have James and Davis on the roster.

One of their main issues last year was the inability to shoot from long-range, being one of the worst three-point shooting teams in the league.

And Davis being left wide open to take a three proves teams are now seemingly willing to allow them space on the perimeter to take shots from distance.

The Lakers are expected to make a trade for a shooter after Thanksgiving - which is in the middle of November.
