Meghan and Harry's recent moves are all part of a long-term strategic brand shift, according to PR expert Ronn Torossian.

"These are some of the most famous people in the world in uncharted waters. They’re experiencing very unique times, they have to be very careful of their brand in the US and in the UK", Torossian told the Daily Express.

"With all their product rollouts, from jams to public appearances, they have to be very conscious of many different audiences and endeavours. It’s more a marathon than a sprint. If you make a mistake or wait a little bit, it’s completely fine and might be safer than rushing a project that doesn’t need to be rushed."

This comes as Meghan's podcast was recently announced to be delayed by a year by Lemonada Media. According to the Daily Mail's Richard Eden, this is due to not wanting the podcast's launch to be "overshadowed" by Meghan's forthcoming Netflix series, which has already started filming.

However, Torossian disagrees, instead arguing that the couple is simply being cautious in building their brand image rather than "sprinting ahead".

"One could understand why they would take their time with a podcast. Something like a podcast will entail a lot of talking, you can’t fully script something like that, so it makes sense to take their time", Torossian said.

Torossian also argued that Harry's decision to change his official residence to his US home, essentially cutting off his ties to the UK, is all part of the same strategy, and the timing with Meghan's brand is no coincidence.

"Listing the US as a residence is on brand with Meghan’s lifestyle launch, it's all part of their marathon strategy, the long term. Harry’s decision goes along with their entire brand and essence.

"It’s what we expect of them from this point. Meghan’s brand is about the American riviera, they’re slowly distancing themselves through their branding."

Meghan Markle's latest venture, the American Riviera Orchard lifestyle brand, ignited controversy since its debut, with some viewing it as a deliberate jab at the Royal Family.

Torossian had previously explained that the choice of branding was a subtle snub to the British Royals, suggesting that the emphasis on an American lifestyle rather than a British one indicates a preference for her California roots over European traditions.

"It’s gutsy for her to name the brand that, for them to make lots of recent moves", he added. "The fact that they haven’t made a mistake is a victory, with so many eyes on them right now."
