LeBron James has moment to forget as fans joke he 'thinks he's Steph Curry'

LEBRON JAMES was mocked on Twitter for his off-the-mark shooting during the Los Angeles Lakers' latest defeat on Sunday.

LeBron James: NBA superstar trains with family

Fans took to social media to ridicule LeBron James and claim the King ‘thinks he’s Steph Curry’ after he pulled up with a deep three-point shot only to miss the rim entirely. James’ Los Angeles Lakers have slumped to an 0-3 record as the fell to the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night.

James missed a shot at the buzzer as the Lakers lost 106-104 to the Trail Blazers, who are 3-0 to start the new season. Damian Lillard scored 41 points, eclipsing James’ 31-point haul.

The Lakers’ shooting difficulties have been highlighted by many as the team’s glaring weakness for some time, and it has been awful to start the campaign. LA shot 6-for-33 from three-point range to fall to defeat against the Trail Blazers.

The Blazers knew they could rely upon the Lakers to miss from beyond the arc and did not respect the three-point threat of the home team all night. They knew they did not need to close out and guard because their opponents just were not going to make many of the shots, as Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook proved.

While James has been the team’s best player, the four-time MVP was guilty of throwing up numerous air-balls himself. Early in the second quarter, James attempted a three-pointer from the logo at half court only for it to embarrassingly air-ball - and fans online were quick to mock him.

Twitter user Chef Curry (@baby_face_goat) posted the clip with the caption: “LeBron thought he was Curry I’m crying” - and the performance means the Lakers are 0-3 down for the season for only the second time since James’ arrival prior to the 2018/19 season.

“I don't like to lose. I hate to lose at anything,” said the 37-year-old afterwards.

“I don't care what happens throughout the course of my season or throughout the course of my career, I hate to lose and especially the way we had this game, but give credit to Portland.”

The fan’s comparison to Curry was apt given the Golden State Warriors superstar’s ability to hit the three-pointer consistently from deep. Curry top-scored with 33 points as he led the Warriors back to winning ways with a 130-125 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

It was a sensational first-half outing by Curry as he netted 28 points in the first two quarters as the Warriors scored a franchise-record 50 in the second quarter alone - the third-most scored in NBA history in a second quarter.
